Following being shortlisted for the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE) Skylon Campus competition earlier this year, RRA was invited to participate in a subsequent competition for the design of the Centre for Automated Manufacture (CAM). We are delighted to announce that as a result of this competition we have been appointed to design the CAM building as part of the wider campus.

As a local company, RRA is very happy to be involved and work alongside NMITE to design one of three buildings at the proposed campus on the Enterprise Zone in Hereford. The CAM building will provide state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities for students undertaking NMITE’s engineering programme and degree apprenticeships. Alongside this, the building will also be used by students and local businesses as a venue for CPD short courses for the automated manufacturing industry.

Stuart Brisbane, NMITE’s Head of Estates, said: “It is good to have appointed a local practice and there is added significance in that their team includes Chanel Goodman – one of the original NMITE Design Cohort”.

Since being appointed, we have started working closely with NMITE, fellow design team members from Environmental Engineering Partnership (EEP) and Goodhind Engineering Consultants to achieve a design that facilitates NMITE’s innovative approach to learning. We look forward to progressing the project further and hope that the CAM building will prove to be a fantastic asset to the engineering industry within Herefordshire and the rest of the country.
